KIDS CAN BE JUNIOR RANGERS AT
HAWAII NATIONAL PARKS AND
HISTORIC SITES!
If you’re visiting the National Park, their free Junior Ranger program is a fun and educational way for kids to learn about Hawaii’s natural environment, volcanoes, and cultural history. There is a workbook for kids aged 7-12 and a coloring book for kids aged 6 and under.
Kids aged 7-12 can earn a Volcanoes National Park Junior Ranger badge by returning their completed handbooks to the visitor centre at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The workbook includes crossword puzzles, scavenger hunts, and more!If you and your family are staying for longer and want to learn more about the Big Island, your kids can complete the Hawai’i Island National Parks Adventure Book. You can pick up this free workbook at any of the following National Parks. This book has fun and educational activities for all of these locations:
- Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
- Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park
- Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park
- Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site
- Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail
